101+ Letters From

by Chuck Smith on October 30, 2009

101LettersFromCan you relate to this?

“My wife and I had just finished putting the last of the Christmas presents from Santa under the tree, and it was already 1:00 a.m. We were exhausted, but my wife reminded me that we always put a note from Santa next to the cookie crumbs on our special Santa plate. So, I trudged over to the computer and tried to concentrate on creating a special letter from Santa that my children will remember for years to come. I got the letter written, and my children loved it, but I realized there’s got to be a better way…”

From this exhausting late-night ritual, 101+ Letters From was born. Now, with 101+ Letters From, you get more than 101 pre-written letters you can use as is, or modify to your own personal tastes:

Halloween Certificates

by Chuck Smith on October 28, 2009

Halloween_TwoIt’s been quite some time since I posted to the My Parent Magic blog, and I wanted to apologize to everyone who has been on the list for a while.  Basically, I had a corporate job that took up all my time and I didn’t have the energy to keep up with this list.

I recently got laid off from my job, so I thought I would start My Parent Magic up again to keep myself busy and to also get some good experience that will translate to my next job.  I’m hoping to be able to do some writing and blogging for my next full-time job, and this is the perfect way to show what I can do.

But, since I’ve been gone so long, things have changed a bit.  Free seems to be the new buzzword, and from my perspective, I think it’s great.  So, over the coming months, I’m going to be sharing links to a lot of great free resources for parents out on the web, and also offering a lot of the letters and certificates I used to sell for free.

So in that vein, I’m offering all of my Halloween Certificates for you to download.  They are in Word format, but you can also bring them into OpenOffice (a free office suite available for download here) and edit the certificates for your special goblin or ghoul.

Make sure you’re signed up for the email list to get notifications of new freebies (I’ll be releasing some Christmas letters and certificates very soon!) and other great parenting fun resources.

And I’ll do my best to keep up with the site.  My plan is to make at least two or three posts a week, and I’ll try to make My Parent Magic you’re favorite place for parenting fun on the Internet.

Best regards,
Chuck

My Parent Magic Revised

by Chuck Smith on October 26, 2009

Welcome Cat MatWell, I’ve finally got the My Parent Magic blog up and running. It took a bit of time, mostly because of the amount of technical expertise I have at my beck and call (which is, exactly me). But, the basics are up and running, and it appears that it works and will remain “live” on the Internet for the foreseeable future.

So, what can you expect at www.MyParentMagic.com? At this site, I’ll be trying to bring together some of the resources I’ve found on the Internet that will help you keep the magic in your parenting. Cool sites, great tips, and loads of free resources that can help you in your quest to have fun with your kids while they are still kids. Just like when we were growing up!

So, make sure you join the list and I’ll keep you posted on what’s new at the site. And…

Happy Parenting!

Letters from Santa and Christmas Certificates

by Chuck Smith on December 18, 2007

321christmas.jpgSome of you may know that I have a few parenting products I’ve come up with over the years. These products are centered around giving notes and letters, as well as some cool certificates, to children at some special times of the year. Right now, I’ve updated my Letters from Santa and Christmas Certificates so that they can be used by anyone.

How? I’ve converted all the Christmas Certificates from strictly Microsoft Word format (.doc) to the OpenOffice.org format (.odt). OpenOffice is a FREE office suite that you can download at www.openoffice.org. OpenOffice not only offers a great word processing solution, but also modules for spreadsheets, drawing, presentations, and more. This is a great open source initiative helped out by Sun Microsystems. If you don’t have a full-featured office suite like Microsoft Word, OpenOffice is a great alternative and offers much of the same functionality.

And, to prepare for the Christmas season, I’ve lowered the cost of the Christmas Super Bonus Package to only $17. So, you get over 100 great letters from Santa and 10 beautiful Christmas certificates for one small price. It’s my way of opening up the My Parent Magic the right way. So, if you have some kids waiting for this year’s visit from Santa, make it a little more magic with a great Santa letter and Christmas certificate. It’s been a lot of fun for my kids and my wife loves the fact that it’s easy to put together a great letter even at midnight after putting all the presents under the tree!

Happy Parenting and Merry Christmas!

Chuck
